Casa Catherwood is one of the true authentic historical buildings of Merida. The facade Colonial is simply beautiful! The house used to be a museum, which was dedicated to Frederick Catherwood He published in 1844 the book "Incidents of travel in Central America, Chiapas and Yucacatan. "The book presented the amazing images of the pre-Hispanic monuments of theregion, which continued to amaze and delight even more than 170 years later. The museum exhibited a collection of 25 of the magnificent lithographs.

Today, the old exhibition halls on the second floor have lost some of their great environment. They now form a separate suite, which is rented to guests. The suite consists from a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom and a beautiful roof terrace.  On the ground floor, you will find a picturesque bookcase, equipped with fine wooden shelves and aCoffee shop serving the best homemade chocolate products.
